| The last major fireworks festival of the season
was held in Isesaki City. This was an international music and fireworks festival;
bringing together experts from around the world. The firework presentations where
accompanied by musical arrangements. Preparation took place in a field over a
ten-day period. We stayed there, worked there and slept there each in turn. Fatigue
of the long season had set in with most of us but it was the last big show of
the season so we gave forth a great effort. We prepared for 30,000 fireworks.
No wonder we were tired. The entire field area was filled with tubes when the
preparation was complete. On the day of the festival the weather was ideal. During
the first part of the event, called Evening Fireworks, fireworks were set off
with various musical pieces from around the world accompanying them. The atmosphere
became more and more exciting. Isesaki`s Mayor started the performance with an
ignition ceremony. This brought many cheers from the audience. This year brought
a greater crowd than previous years. The regrets we had during the festival were
a result of strong winds which caused two interruptions in the performance. We
finished without doing the finale. We were sorry and feel that we will do better
next time. |
